I'm walking 7k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians
Walk for Autism: A Cause Close to My Heart
As a parent of a daughter with Autism, I know firsthand the challenges and joys of navigating life with autism. Everyday activities and tasks can be so challenging, from school to friendships, emotional regulation, trying to fit into a world that only accepts people who are considered “normal” — an experience many families like ours can relate to. It’s a constant reminder of how much work is needed to build a world that truly understands and supports autistic individuals.
I often think about my daughter’s future. My dream is for her to live in a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, the opportunity to reach their potential, and a community that embraces and includes them.
That's why I'm walking 7k steps a day in May to fundraise for Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia).
