About me

Hi all 👋

In the month of May I will be completing the ‘Walk for Autism Fundraiser’ For the first two weeks of May I am aiming to walk 7000 steps a day. At the 14 day mark I’m going to smash my goal of 98000 steps walked.

I’d like to explain a little on why I am doing this fundraiser. From a very young age I struggled being different from the rest of the kids around me, lights were too bright, sounds were too loud, I struggled keeping focused and regulating my emotions just to name a few.
My mum tried for years to seek help from Drs. But it wasn’t until I was 16 years old that a Dr finally took myself and my mother seriously and pointed us in the right direction for a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD.

During the 2 years it took to get my diagnosis I struggled a lot mentally with acceptance of who I was and why my brain worked the way it did. I have since learned to love my brain, and figured out how to navigate life being dignosed Autistic.

Autism in females is highly understudied, which is why women tend to be diagnosed later on in life which can cause many mental health struggles. This is why I want to raise money and awareness for our community and help lessen the financial burden that diagnosis cost on our families and to help support our mental health.

So please, do have a read about this fundraiser and thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me 🙂

Much love , Alexandra 🫶🏽💛🖤💛🧩

I'm walking 7k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians

I’ve stepped up to Walk for Autism. Please show your support as I walk my own brilliant way for Autistic Australians and their families!

Did you know? Because the world is not autism-friendly, 70% of Autistic people in Australia experience mental health issues.

That's why I'm walking 7k steps a day in May to fundraise for Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia). Can you please support me?

Your donation will help deliver services that support Autistic people to live their best life.

Funds raised can help Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis, provide autism-specific schooling for children on the autism spectrum, support research and help create inclusive, autism-friendly environments.

Please support my Walk for Autism and donate now. Thank you so much!
