I'm walking 7k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians

I was diagnosed with Autism in 2024, and suddenly, everything made sense. Growing up, everyday life felt much harder for me than it seemed for others. Situations that appeared effortless for them were, for me, a constant, unseen struggle—overthinking every detail while masking on the outside to fit in. I lost myself. No one should have to feel that way.

Because the world isn’t Autism-friendly, 70% of Autistic people in Australia experience mental health challenges. For years, I battled anxiety and depression without understanding why or realising they were connected to Autism. But through self-discovery, learning what truly brings me joy, and finally receiving my diagnosis, I can now say I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been. Sadly, many others don’t get that chance.

I'm walking 7k steps a day in May to raise awareness, reduce the stigma, and improve access to diagnosis, understanding and support.

Your donation to Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) will help Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis, provide autism-specific schooling for children on the autism spectrum, support research and help create inclusive, autism-friendly environments.

 Thank you so much!
