This May we are walking 7k steps a day to raise money for Autism Spectrum Australia on behlaf of our Aubrey girl!
Aubrey was diagnosed with Autism at the very early age of 2 1/2. We have been in early intervention therapy since and Aubrey has made so much progress and amazes us everyday.
Aubrey has a lot of sensory needs. She also is unable to communicate or verbalise her feelings as a neuro typical person would. If she is feeling frustrated she can’t tell us why or how she’s feeling but will react in ways we are unable to understand at times. This can include biting, hitting, screaming and crying. Aubrey has come leaps and bounds and for the first time since starting therapy she is learning to tell us if someone or something is in her bubble (safe space) and we can intervene and help Aubrey understand emotional regulation something she has severely struggled with.
Our day to day life is never the same. We find it hard to do family things together as a simple trip to the shops could be very over stimulating for Aubrey. We would love to raise $1500 to go towards a family who also feels the everyday struggles with a neuro spicey child and can have access to the therapies that we are so lucky to have.
We love you Aubrey girl ! All the moons and all the stars!
I’ve stepped up to Walk for Autism. Please show your support as I walk my own brilliant way for Autistic Australians and their families!
Did you know? Because the world is not autism-friendly, 70% of Autistic people in Australia experience mental health issues.
That's why I'm walking 7k steps a day in May to fundraise for Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia). Can you please support me?
Your donation will help deliver services that support Autistic people to live their best life.
Funds raised can help Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis, provide autism-specific schooling for children on the autism spectrum, support research and help create inclusive, autism-friendly environments.
Please support my Walk for Autism and donate now. Thank you so much!
